What is RGB led strip?
RGB stands for “Red, “Green” and “Blue”, each little LED in an RGB strip (alongside practically anything to do with lighting in screens) uses these primary colours as mixing them together can comprise any colour we can conceive. RGB lighting LED strip has to be a constant colour. Although you can change what that colour is, if an RGB LED strip is made up of 60 LEDs, and you want the colour set to purple, then every LED has to be purple at the same time.
You can still do different lighting modes with RGB such as strobing, a gradually fading rainbow between colours, but you can’t do some of the more impressive lighting effects that IC RGB strip can do.
What is IC RGB led strip?
IC RGB led strip can be named addressable led light, it allows for individual LED control, so if an LED strip is made up of 60 LEDs, you can have 60 different colours at once. This allows for much greater control of an IC RGB led strip compared to an RGB strip.
Addressable led strip is the more modern solution and with individual LED control comes with many more lighting configurations for funky patterns such as spiral rainbows, watercolour patterns, glitch effects and more.
Where you use them?
If the main demand is to create a colorful atmosphere and there is no high requirement for smart control, you can choose the RGB led strip
This is especially suitable for creating colorful atmosphere, such as home decoration, bar nightclubs, shopping mall displays and so on.
If you pursue highly personalized customization and smart control, and the budget allows, it is recommended to choose the IC RGB led strip.
That is suitable for scenes that require highly personalized customization and intelligent control, such as smart home, commercial display, stage performance, etc.
What’s the different in price ?
Generally, the price of smart IC RGB is 30-50% higher than RGB LED light strips, so it is necessary to weigh the options based on budget when making a choice.
In terms of later maintenance, smart color-changing IC RGB may require more technical support and software updates, while RGB LED light strips are relatively simpler.
Before making a decision, it is recommended to fully know the product characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages, and conduct a comprehensive comparison and evaluation.
In summary, the choice between RGB LED light strips and smart IC RGB LED light strips mainly depends on personal needs, budget, and usage scenarios.
